Meet The Team
Kimberly Baker
M.Ed, MFT
Kimberly Baker is a marriage and family therapist who believes navigating life’s curveballs can be difficult; and it can become easy to feel overwhelmed. After a 23 year career working as an educator, she decided to attend Virginia Commonwealth University for a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. She is dedicated to all forms of mental health, and has a special interest in trauma, anxiety, and depression. She welcome clients with diverse racial, cultural, and sexual identities. Kimberly enjoys working with individuals from adolescence through adulthood, as well as couples and families, to support their mental health needs in a safe, nonjudgmental space.
Her theoretical approaches embody an integrative and systemic perspective with a person-centered foundation. She integrates attachment theory, mindfulness, communication stances, and trauma-informed care. Kimberly prefers an integrative approach because not every client will respond to a singular theory, and it is important for her to meet her clients’ where they are currently at. Kimberly collaborates with her clients to explore their strengths and empower them to reach their goals and resolve the issues that they are seeking assistance with.
